Have you set a clear intention for something greater? Perhaps you’ve asked for a generational shift, the breaking of familial cycles, or a life that finally mirrors the peace of a sanctuary. Then, almost immediately, the "coursework" begins. The disruptions, the challenges, and the sudden pivots can feel maddening and heavy. But at Paradise Divine, we look at these moments through a different lens; not as obstacles, but as the required curriculum for the life you desire.
Enrollment in the Extraordinary
When we ask for generational wealth or healing, we aren't just placing an order for a finished product. We are enrolling in a transformative masterclass. To change your life, you must change your internal "operating system." Life is a curriculum in growth, but mastery requires practice. As Caroline Myss often suggests, our life’s journey is about the preservation of our spirit. To move into a new season, we must first master the lessons of the current one. You cannot manage a legacy if you haven't first learned to navigate the present. New blessings require new lessons.
The Power of the Conscious Response
This season has taught me the ultimate lesson in Instructional Soul Design. When life "disrupts" our "peace," we have a choice. Eckhart Tolle teaches that life will give us whatever experience is most helpful for our evolution. Now, when things that I used to consider disruptions occur, I take a breath and remind myself: I have successfully completed hard chapters for years. I get to choose my response to this one. That pause is where your lessons turn into wisdom.
The Master Perspective
Change is the natural law of the universe. We see it in the shifting of the earth and the evolution of species. Nature doesn't resist its own development; it follows the design. Thich Nhat Hanh famously noted, "No mud, no lotus." In instructional terms, the "mud" is the essential environment for the "bloom." Without the challenge, there is no trigger for the change. I now view obstacles as the tests I must ace to build a better future; each challenge is a set of lessons that will help me to handle my heart’s desire and the "so much more" that is coming.
Showing Up for the Reps
Every day, we wake with the opportunity to decide what we are willing to invest in our own evolution.
Are you willing to choose grace, peace, love, and light when the "lesson" is difficult?
Are you willing to remain intentional about self-care when the schedule is tight?
Are you willing to do the internal work required to break the cycle?
These are the "reps" of the soul. Generational shifts aren't just inherited; they are built through daily, intentional choices. Creating a new reality will require consciously putting in a million more reps than your ancestors did. Learning & practicing new ways of being & doing.
Trust the Process
If you are in a season of grief, growth, or intense transition, remember: You aren't being buried; you are being planted, and in due season, you will BLOOM. Lean into the wisdom of the greats. Lean into your own proven resilience. Do the work. Put in the reps. The life you desire is on the other side of the person you are becoming.
Mastering the Shift: Your Instructional Manual
In instructional design, we know that learning only sticks when there is application. To move from "understanding" change to "embodying" it, here are a few concepts to practice:
1. The "Response Audit" (Formative Assessment)- The next time a disruption occurs whether a minor annoyance or a major challenge pause before you react; choose to consciously respond.
The Task: Ask yourself, "If I was creating the strongest, most resilient version of myself, how would that person respond?"
The Goal: To shift from a reactive state to an intentional state.
2. Document Your "Prior Learning"- When you feel overwhelmed, look back at your "life transcript."
The Task: Write down three "impossible" things you have survived or accomplished in the past.
The Goal: To provide yourself with evidence-based confidence. You have already passed the prerequisite courses for the life you have now; you are more than qualified.
3. Schedule Your "Maintenance Reps"- Just as a student needs time to study, your soul needs time to rest.
The Task: Carve out non-negotiable time for self-care, a walk in nature, meditation, or doing the things that bring you joy and energize the soul.
The Goal: To ensure your "internal hardware" is grounded so you can process this new growth.
4. Rewrite the Playbook- Identify one familial pattern or "default setting" that no longer serves what you've asked for.
The Task: Explicitly define the new procedure. For example, instead of "In this family, we react with anger," rewrite the manual to say, "In my legacy, we respond with boundaries and breath."
The Goal: To actively design a shift based on what you’ve prayed for.
With peace, love & light,
